I really enjoyed this video showing a collection of old movies, taken in 1929, of "elderly people"--born in the 1800s! Some of the audio is slightly out of sync, but the video is remarkably clear, considering its age. Well worth the 15 minutes when you have them.
Of course, I loved the row of ladies knitting as they chatted, near the beginning.
"The first hundred years are the hardest."
"What are your politics?" "Republican now; used to be, before there was a Republican party, I was a Whig, voted the Whig ticket."
