Hilarious and Scathing Movie Review

Rather than wait for the next round-up of movie ratings, I had to share this one today, along with some quotes from the review that made me glad I don't have the job of reviewing movies. Can you imagine?

Okay, we start with one and a half stars. We've seen worse.

Cruelty to moviegoers? Well, that's new! The reviewer is not holding back.

Now, here is the question: Would you ever go see this movie? What would it take to get you there? For me, even a free ticket and free popcorn wouldn't do it.

Did you want to see it before (or not want to), and did the review change your mind?

  1. I love Adam Driver but I wouldn't see this movie. It sounds very dumb.

  2. I won't go see it, had never heard of it...but after reading this I did go watch the trailer (looks like a train wreck, but I had to see what all the fuss was about.)

  3. I don't think this reviewer could hate this movie more. Maybe it will become a cult classic like The Room. I'm off to see the trailer since Elisabeth was brave enough to do it.

  4. Is it *trying* to make fun of itself? (She typed hopefully but thinking, no.) In the 70's disaster movies were a fad and they were getting increasingly outlandish till someone came out with (I think the name was The Big Bus) and I remember there was a review that left me going, Okay, you hated this, I need to see this.

It was about the maiden voyage of the first nuclear-powered bus that tried to take a hairpin turn in towering mountains and people were rushing back and forward inside it to try to rock the bus back onto the road as the back end threatened to fall off a steep cliff and blow up everything in a nuclear disaster. While some couple went for a hot steamy scene near the driver because hey, gotta celebrate the end of the world, right?

But at least it knew it was being campy! And yes it really was a waste of time and popcorn but at least I could say for a laugh later that I'd seen it.

    1. It's Coppola, so probably not trying to make fun of itself, alas!

  5. I hadn't even heard of this movie until I started reading the awful reviews! I love a so-bad-it's-fun movie, but this one just sounds terrible.
