I mentioned on the cabinet write-up that I bruised my foot getting it in, and I think I've mentioned recently that it still hurts. Yesterday, I decided that I had better get it checked to make sure I didn't break anything (wasn't feeling worse but wasn't feeling better), and went to urgent care. The good news is that nothing is broken! But the doctor said I need to stay off it more than I was doing, and elevate it more; she said it would probably take a few weeks to feel better. A few weeks, ugh.
They wrapped it up and gave me a support-shoe thing to wear, and I'm sure the support is important, but it's just so awkward.
They also suggested I use a cane. Sigh. I guess it's a good thing I found a cane stand for Mom's.
Mom and I were both interested in what Maggie's reaction to the shoe would be, but she didn't bat an eyelash, rubbing against it just like she does against my foot all the time.
Never predictable.
Awww, such a sweet kitty. But what a bummer that you are dealing with this injury! I hope it heals more swiftly than predicted.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad it wasn't broken although sometimes other injuries take just as long (or longer) to heal. Behave yourself! LOL
ReplyDeleteIf I had a box long enough... I have a few spare canes from when I was figuring out what worked and what didn't, given their permanence in my life. Good for 5'5".
ReplyDeleteMeantime, I found a near twin to your new yarn chest. It's not in the pictures, you have to do the video view, but it's right by the front door here. https://www.zillow.com/homes/for_sale/49351967_zpid/?rtoken=4fec9b5f-69ad-400a-b1f9-4e0803e5650c%7EX1-ZUt66kwutgu7ex_6ikyk&utm_campaign=emo-instantsavedsearch&utm_source=email&utm_term=urn:msg:2024050313434170a2bd2a113691a6&utm_medium=email&utm_content=forsaleimage-_rid-VcjooLChTq2dKPbdHC5abC_&searchQueryState=%7B%22mapBounds%22%3A%7B%22west%22%3A-122.79873847961426%2C%22east%22%3A-122.67823219299316%2C%22south%22%3A45.325297681348395%2C%22north%22%3A45.463200861900724%7D%2C%22filterState%22%3A%7B%22sort%22%3A%7B%22value%22%3A%22days%22%7D%2C%22ah%22%3A%7B%22value%22%3Atrue%7D%2C%22manu%22%3A%7B%22value%22%3Afalse%7D%2C%22apa%22%3A%7B%22value%22%3Afalse%7D%2C%22apco%22%3A%7B%22value%22%3Afalse%7D%2C%22land%22%3A%7B%22value%22%3Afalse%7D%2C%22con%22%3A%7B%22value%22%3Afalse%7D%2C%22mf%22%3A%7B%22value%22%3Afalse%7D%2C%22tow%22%3A%7B%22value%22%3Afalse%7D%7D%2C%22mapZoom%22%3A13%2C%22savedSearchEnrollmentId%22%3A%22X1-SShtdcziepzxcl0000000000_1r7ki%22%7D&3col=true&mmlb=p,1
UG, what a bummer. I hope that it heals fast and you are out of that boot soon! I guess it's better to not accidentally bang it on anything, but I know it is probably awkward at the moment. Cats don't care about the details as long as you pet them or rub them when they want it!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you went to get it checked out. You certainly want it to heal properly and not jeopardize your health long-term. The protective shoe and cane are a minor inconvenience and Maggie certainly doesn't care!
