Let's Play "What's This Plant?"

It was a great weekend, with lots of driving and church and playing cards (I got a small callus from shuffling!), and I'm much too tired to get into all of that now, so instead I'm going to ask all you smart people for help. Do you know what kind of plant this is? Someone gave it to my grandmother, she really likes it, but none of us can identify it.

Any ideas?

  1. I had a plant which looked very similar to this and it was a False Aralia (wait a minute, I've got to go check out the spelling.....) and here's an image and short article: http://home.howstuffworks.com/false-aralia.htm

I loved my plant and it lasted over SIX years! Usually I kill them fairly quickly. It's actually a small tree and the worst problem is with over-watering. Which is why mine lasted: I generally forget to water my plants....

The scientific name is Dizygotheca elegantissima.

Congratulations and enjoy your lovely plant. :)

  3. I asked a gardening friend who wrote: "The plant looks like a scented geranium. They sometimes flower but the plant is lacy and fernlike. The leaves are very fragrant. " and suggested looking here: http://www.hobbsfarmgreenery.com/onlinecatalog.html

    Let us know, OK?
