Meanwhile: If you have a little time, I highly recommend watching this video from Paris in 1900, of scenes from the Turn of the Century exhibition. I love watching really old footage like this, but especially fascinating was the part with people stepping on and off and riding the moving sidewalk, which was apparently called a travolator, in 1900! It was apparently there for the exhibition, but they're all so casual about it, like it's no big deal to have a moving walkway at that time. Wild!
