Some Olympic Humor
When I heard that a dog had run onto the course during Olympic skiing, I had to look for the story, and the Guardian did not disappoint. This was a day the headline writer lived for.
I did not see this, but I love that this is the way they reported it. I suspect Nazgul is a mediocre boy, not a very good boy, so I question the journalistic integrity! (We often call Hannah a mediocre dog when she is naughty. I'm sometimes glad she doesn't actually speak English.)
Seriously, though: how great is this? The Guardian often provides gems like this. I think Nazgul also deserves praise for not fouling the Croat, which would have been easy to do.
I enjoyed watching the dog run around on the ski course, but it was icy and I was worried about him.
ReplyDeleteIt would have been awful if he'd been injured, or caused a real disruption to the racers. Fortunately it stayed happy news!

ReplyDeleteThere are definitely times when I've been glad my cat doesn't know what I'm calling them! As long as the tone is good, they take it as praise.
DeleteNow this is what I call fine journalism.

I need a little light news these days more than ever, as leavening. There's too much awful stuff.
DeleteI missed this. I love this! Thank you for the heads-up, I will go look for the video, I want to see it!
ReplyDeleteHa, I did not see this! I love the article- it's hilarious. We need more light-hearted humor like this in the news!
ReplyDeleteRight? Definitely need sunshine to break up the darkness.
DeleteBut WHY would you ever name a dog Nazgul! Dogs are not evil!
