In the spirit of both "just one thing" and not letting the perfect be the enemy of the done (I know, I'm mangling that), yesterday I ordered my holiday cards. As in the past few years, I used a Groupon to get half off cards at Staples, and in fact my order was ready to pick up last night, when my knitting group meets, right next to Staples. So now I have the cards, and they can wait until after Thanksgiving to be addressed, but I have them. Phew.
You'll see them on Christmas day here, as is my habit! In the meantime, perhaps you would enjoy this total piece of randomness.
I know, I'm a Shakespeare nerd, but the idea of Hamlet and Othello switching plays and each taking care of business very competently just tickles me.
VERY CUTE. I love when errands are nearby each other. I'm already making plans for my Friday, which will include: Picking up some wine I won in an auction, getting my COVID vaccine, (Maybe) doing some kitten volunteer work (kittens are sick, so maybe won't be there), getting some Christmas gifts at Target, getting some Christmas gifts at Trader Joes. All very close together and handy.
ReplyDeleteYou're really going to get things done with all that! It feels so satisfying.
DeleteI do New Year's cards so I don't have to worry about them yet!
ReplyDeleteI've done that in the past! It can really help, some years.
DeleteYay for holiday cards! I just ordered mine too.
ReplyDeleteIt's fun to think of sending some happiness out in the world.
DeleteI really like this whole theory, and I wonder if it works with other tragedies, too. I'm going to think about it.
ReplyDeleteIn the meantime, have a think on this: The past tense of William Shakespeare is Wouldiwas Shookspeared.
Ha! That is such fun wordplay, thank you.
DeleteThank you for the laugh!
ReplyDeleteI use boxed cards and put wallet photos in them, so thanks for the reminder to order my photos. My ultrasound yesterday was right beside a really big really nice grocery store I never go to, so I got groceries and found three really cute little Christmas gifts. Fortuitous.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, and how nicely that worked out!
DeleteI did the same thing! I ordered mine a couple of weeks ago, and usually I make them all by hand myself. This time I decided to just let the company do it and to let it be good enough. I also usually do an entire update on the year, but this year I put a quote and my name and called it a day! I still have to address them and stamp them, but I am going to get it done early so I can check that off my list, as I am just not feeling it as much this year!
ReplyDeleteSometimes it's time for perfection, and sometimes good enough is good enough.
DeleteHooray, good for you for getting these cards ordered!
