The Tidal Nature of Migraines

aka, This is my brain on a migraine.

Today I was pondering how a migraine rolls around and through me like a tide. A mild one is like water to my ankles, swirling around; then as it gets higher, the waves are more like to knock me off balance, knock me over, knock me down.

And I also pondered how it's almost always the left side of my head that hurts more. Does that mean I'm left-brained? Right-brained? Fighting it?

Not the deepest thoughts, but the most I can handle, given a headache that reaches down to my shoulder blade.
