I’m not sure I had ever been in a Skechers store before today, but I wanted to try sneakers on, because my feet are both large (US size 10) and wide, so buying online before trying is asking for failure. We went up to the outlets, an hour away, and I started to look around. I couldn’t see anything on the boxes indicating wides, so I asked some employees how I could tell which were the wides, and they said, oh, all the wides are in that aisle over there.
Y’all. Y’ALL. I did not have to wander the entire store looking to see what styles they had in 10W, because ALL THE WIDES WERE IN ONE SPOT.
All I had to do was see what was available in 10. It was amazing. I wish every shoe store would do this.
Mind you, some of them probably wouldn’t because it would reveal how few wides they had. But anyway. I got these, and they are so comfortable. Yay, yay.

As a 6.5EE I am in awe at their organizing and your finding just what you wanted. My feet are too wide for even the newer Birkenstock styles, which are trying to be mainstream (ish) and stylish, so it's a good thing I like their classics. And that I live in a place where Birks with socks is the norm, when the weather's colder.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Skechers, almost all my shoes (other than boots and trail runners) are Skechers. They have so many pretty styles - and their sandals are so comfortable too. I am like a Skechers evangelical. WHY WON'T THEY SPONSOR ME???
ReplyDeleteClearly they should! They are missing out.
DeleteIt sounds like a very successful day--full of great food and shopping.
ReplyDeleteIt was a great day. Successful and enjoyable.
DeleteThat really does sound like a fantastic day. I love it when stores make things easy on their customers!
ReplyDeleteHonestly, the only reason for a store not to do that is because they don't have that many wides! But this was a large store and clearly they had enough. I'm so grateful for it.
DeleteYep, Skechers are great. My feet are kind of shaped liked rectangles, so all those pointy toes don't work for me. Hmm. I should go to Skechers and see what sandals they have- I think I need an upgrade from my Crocs.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't really looking beyond the sneakers, but I will the next time, because they're so comfortable, plus I love them for the aisle of wides.
