I had my annual skin check today, nothing bad found, but considering the words rosacea and eczema were used, you can rest assured that I am keeping up my usual levels of glamor here. Don't hate me because I'm beautiful*.
*If you remember this commercial, it's time to schedule your colonoscopy.
From there, I went by the local farmer's market, where the cat organization that helped me find Maggie had a booth, to drop off the cat food I had left over when she died (they were very nice about it, but it was a sad moment all the same). On the way in, I saw the 1969 Caddy that I've seen before in the area! They were driving out, so I was able to call over that I loved the car and used to have one the same year. The farmer's market is bigger than I remembered, not having been for a while; I should take some time off work one day and swing by for a real visit before they stop for the season. Or I can go in the fall, when they start up again.
When I was out yesterday, I had to wait at a stop sign for the cross traffic to clear.
He was paying no attention to me: he had his eye on another iguana, down the street.Talk about scenes not seen in Massachusetts. At least, not where I lived.
She's getting over surgery, so they can't leave her alone right now: don't want her to jump and tear out stitches.
I love that sky and those clouds! It was a hard moment to get rid of my mom's medication, quite a bit more emotional than I thought. Will you get another cat or is it too soon to consider it?
ReplyDeleteI just adore skies that "look fake". There has to be some insightful analogy here, right? When life looks bleak - look up (well, at least on a sunny day).
ReplyDeleteYou must be missing Maggie so much and I'm sure dropping off her food was emotional. Whoever receives the food will be blessed by your generosity <3
I don't know the commercial and I'm young enough they don't recommend a colonoscopy yet!
I remember "don't hate me because I'm beautiful" so well, and sometimes I even quote it, along with "maybe she's born with it!"
ReplyDeleteThat "anything versus everything" graphic is perfect.
You must miss Maggie so much. When Barkley died, I needed to get rid of all his things right away, I just couldn't have them in the house. Fortunately for me the shelters took all his food, a friend took a bag of treats, etc.
My colonoscopy is already scheduled, thank you. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteYou had an exciting trip to the farmers' market! So many great photos. I know it was a Sadness to drop off Maggie's leftover cat food, but still, it must have felt satisfying to know that it was going to such a good place. XO
Hahaha - the "don't hate me because I'm beautiful"/colonoscopy juxtaposition is too real. I'm due for one next year, woop woop.
ReplyDeleteWhat an array of critters you encountered!
I didn't know I needed that what-I-can-cannot-do graphic. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThe cat food--oh, man, I'm so sorry all over again. While glad you're helping someone else out with it.
ReplyDeleteMy dad was an art dealer and wanted to look like a successful art dealer and had six kids and it turned out that there was essentially no market at the time for two year old used embassy limousines around Washington, DC. In an era when American cars ruled and were famously badly built (my uncle bought a station wagon where the corner of the hood near the driver crumpled badly the first time it was ever lifted, and stayed that way the rest of its functional life), limos were the exception: you DO NOT break down on the ruler or ambassador from XYZ.
So. That is how my folks came to own a '69 Caddy limousine with a trailer hook (added by them of course) and a pop-up camper for eight pulled behind. We were a bit of a sight on the road.
So many limo stories...
I love the graphic too! But not as much as the tortoise and the iguana, lovely.
ReplyDeleteNo, you don't see iguanas in MA! They're cute. Unless they live in your backyard and insist on pooping on your pool deck. As me how I know.
ReplyDeleteOof, I need a skin check! I'm way overdue. But I'm pleased to say that yes, I remember that commercial and yes, I AM caught up with my colonoscopies!
LOVE the graphic.
I want to be a stroller dog. #lifegoals
