Rainbows

When my mother and I were driving Sunday afternoon, I was taking some pictures (since she was doing the actual driving).

Like this palm tree:

And then, a rainbow!

Which reminded me that we saw a rainbow Friday night, on the way to dinner, that I didn't show you. I was driving that time, but when we stopped at a light, I got this shot.
See the rainbow, near the bottom? Apparently the pot of gold is in the Wells Fargo bank building. Who knew?

  1. Bringing back memories. We had a palm tree--much shorter and more squat but with those clusters of orange. Turns out it was a date palm, and the workers who spent three days taking it out (the trunk doesn't cut, it shreds) ate hearts of palm and didn't tell us what we were missing out till it was gone.

One of my kids ended up at the plastic surgeon's after falling into that tree and it poisoned the ground around it for anything else--took about three years after the tree was gone before anything would grow there. We don't miss it, to be honest. But the possum living off the dates at the crown of the tree let us know she was sure going to. (Oops. Didn't know it was a date palm, didn't know she was raising a family up there.)
