What ifs...

  2. We spend our whole lives learning to see that way. It's in the looking back that you get to see most clearly how things worked out okay. If I had not been hit with lupus at 31 I would never have read Norman Cousin's book, would never have seen the acute need for the creative outlet and quite likely would never have returned to my high school hobby of knitting. And I would never have learned how important it was to me to knit for others. That you could make love visible and tangible.

    My life would have been far less if that had been so.
