Seriously?

The last couple of days, I have felt, on and off, very, very slightly dizzy, just lightheaded, a few times, not much and not often, but I remembered that happening a while back, and tried to figure out when. I hadn't blogged about it, but I remembered sending a message to my doctor to ask if/when I should worry, so I checked the portal.

September 2023.

2023?! I would have said a year ago at most. Memory is such a messed-up thing.

Turns out that was when I got back from Key West, Mom got out of rehab despite not being able to walk at all well on her own, and then she fell again. So yeah, that was why it didn't make the blog. A lot didn't make the blog around then, I'm sure.

Seriously, though, almost two years ago...huh. Well, to quote Douglas Adams, "Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so."

  1. I hate that slightly dizzy (and in my case a bit nauseated) feeling. Hope it goes away soon! September is your month for it, evidently.

    1. It is funny that it's happened twice in September! But this time hasn't been as bad as two years ago was. There were a couple of mornings where I sat up in bed and felt like I was about to fall over. Not fun.

  2. Two thoughts: Meniere's (you don't want that, it can damage your hearing.) Last I was told, the only treatment was a low salt diet. It makes the room spin around fast. I haven't had an attack in years and years.

Second thought: you can get crystals (of calcium I think) breaking loose in your inner ear that can cause dizziness. What they have you do is hold this weird pose with your head upside down just so so for so many minutes and times per day, and what that does is encourage the crystals to settle down where they won't make you dizzy. I couldn't believe the ENT was serious the first time I was told about it but he was and he was right. Best of luck!
