Mom and I had dinner out last night, at a restaurant with tables outside, and while it was a hot night for sitting outside (temps are still in the 90s down here, with the feels-like temps over 100), there was a lot to watch.
For instance, after dozens of mostly small black birds flew around in a giant swirl, a bunch of them settled on one wire, but they gave a lot of space to the larger bird in the middle:
Shortly thereafter, I spotted a rainbow! The radar claimed the storm was right over us, but it wasn't even drizzling.
Lookit the little splayed back legs!
Super cute. Maaayyyybe two inches long.
We went to the grocery store after, and two miles away, suddenly it was pouring rain, so it really was a very localized storm.
And hey, as long as I'm here, how about sunset sky from the night before:
Pretty!
That lizard made me laugh: Honey! Who does your nails?? They look divine!!
ReplyDeleteThat sunset is gorgeous! It would be difficult for me to sit out in that heat. My Washingtonian blood is very thick. LOL
ReplyDeleteIt definitely isn't for everyone: even we were hot, with our thinned blood.
DeleteThese are such fun photos! I love the lizards long back toes and the crowd of birds watching the rainbow.
ReplyDeleteThanks! So many different lizardy-things I've seen lately.
DeleteOooh gorgeous sunset!
ReplyDeleteIt really was! I have to remember to look at them more often.
DeleteI don’t think I’ve seen a lizard with back legs like that, very cool. Lovely sunset…and yeah, sitting outside when it feels like 100 sounds miserable. Though hot is definitely not as bed when you’re in the shade of evening or whatever.
ReplyDeleteThat was not our usual lizard! There are so many different ones.
DeleteI just cannot eat outdoors, but I would have been charmed by the lizard. Probably I'd have thought a lot about taking it home to my yard. And naming it Monty.
ReplyDeleteWe do see lizards around our grounds, but not the same kind.
