The headline over the rest of the story was this:
Which I feels really captures the spirit of the thing.
Perfectly expressed. Good for them.
ReplyDeleteFor whatever it's worth, my Republican brother-in-law from Texas on Sunday was seriously grieving the effects of that person on this country. Which suggests to me that my instincts are right: Abbott etc are frantically trying to redistrict because they know they're losing their grip on the state.
I have absolutely checked out. They win. I can't stand listening to his voice or people debate him. There's nothing worth "debating." I'm like you and just sinking into fictional worlds. It says something that I'd rather spend time in a medieval fantasy world where I would inevitably be marginalized as a second-class citizen, probably sexually assaulted, and probably die of a preventable disease than listen to the news.
ReplyDeleteI am burned out on the unimaginably horrible news and can't believe we're where we are today. Every day I could be outraged and terrified but I can't live that way. Books and mystery shows are a great escape!
