This. This is the face of ultimate betrayal.
His claws really needed trimming--in my opinion, which he did not share--and he is not a willing participant in that process. No blood was drawn, but I am not his favorite person right now. Which is too bad, because shortly before this started, I think I was.
His mistake was in grabbing at my arm without sheathing the pointies.

My cat avoids me and hates me for a while when I give her the transdermal medication in her ear for her overactive thyroid. I don't like being unpopular. :(
ReplyDeleteI know, I hate that feeling! Like, kid, it's for your own good ... but they will never understand that.
DeleteI have never, not once, trimmed Zelda's nails. Am I going to be turned into the ASPCA for animal abuse?
ReplyDeleteI trim them for two reasons: first, because the cat steps on me or grabs my arm or kneads on me and the pinpricks hurt, and second because at least some cats, if left untrimmed, can have their claws catch in fabric, like blankets, and could hurt themselves in trying to get free. If Zelda doesn't do either, then I think you're fine!
DeleteYeah, she catches her claws on fabric sometimes, but she's always been able to free herself. I'm not risking assassination by feline to cut her nails! Bless you for taking care of your goober's nails.
DeleteSorry for the needing to do that, but I have to say that face made me laugh. It looks like a combination of I adore you , with, I'm acting so mad that you'll never do this to me again but I'm having a hard time maintaining the mad, especially wrapped up in this super comfy hiding place that feels so snuggly.
